Mark Lauchli joined Abodes, Inc. in 1997 as Operations Manager during Phase I of The Fields development. He worked closely with Michael Pollack in all aspects of the planning process from the initial site plan stage to budgeting and financing, and through all phases of construction. Upon completion of the project he took on the additional role of liaison with Abodes' Property Management Division. Mr. Lauchli became an Equity Partner in developments in 1998 and President of Abodes in 2001. He currently administers both the development and management sides of the business, and has established a strong professional team in each department.

Mr. Lauchli is an Indiana University Kelley School of Business graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Entrepreneurship. With characteristic finesse, while still working on his undergraduate degree, Mr. Lauchli launched his own property management company, Property Development Systems (PDS) LLC, which controlled a sizeable amount of residential and commercial real estate. A licensed realtor in the state of Indiana, Mr. Lauchli has acquired expertise in all phases of the development process from framing a building with carpenters, to analyzing the financial and legal complexities of mortgage backed securities and conduit loans, to streamlining and updating management services.

One of Mr. Lauchli's great passions lies in the initial conception and design of new projects. Most developers do not pay attention to actual unit design, relying on stock floor plans that have been used many times over. Abodes takes an entirely different approach, finding a certain joy in starting from an idea and carefully molding it into an actual living space. In putting together a multi-talented and committed Abodes team and laboring to search out and define talent in many related fields, Mr. Lauchli ensures that Abodes' custom designed and uniquely structured developments generate attractive spaces that residents are proud to call home. The success of this method is attested to by the recognition and many awards that Abodes has received over the years, including more than five for individual unit design.

As a real estate development corporation, Abodes is a construction management company building all its own properties, and it is also a property management company which manages all its own properties. As PCO, Mr. Lauchli commands a knowledge of the business that is close to total, encompassing all aspects of the real estate industry. This yields a large degree of control and depth of understanding, not to mention ensuring an economy of operation, that is unusual in the marketplace and highly beneficial to the company's overall success. Qualitative product, sensitivity to aesthetics and pride of ownership stand as Mr. Lauchli's central themes. Integrity generated from within the company and adherence to exacting standards are principles that he holds strongly to, acting as a guarantee that Abodes always follows through and delivers more than is expected by residents, bankers, and equity. His leadership provides a strong and creative guiding force, one that moves Abodes, Inc. forward in new and exciting directions.

Mr. Lauchli also believes strongly that giving back to the community is a critical aspect of responsible business practices. As a result, he has donated his services as a guest lecturer to classes and round table discussions at the Kelley School of Business and the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship since 1997. He has also been a regular lecturer in the MBA Entrepreneurship program in Indiana University since 2001. He is currently an active Board Member for the Lotus World Music Festival, of which Abodes, Inc. is a Founding Corporate Sponsor.
